Phil Foden

Foden and Palmer both move infield and time runs between defenders. League analysis of their 2023–24 play shows adaptable attacking positions; Foden’s deeper left-sided arrivals in 2025–26 qualify the comparison with Palmer’s creator-scorer role.

Foden recalls part of David Silva’s Manchester City game in 2010–15 through tight-space control and attacking combinations. Foden’s cited play places more emphasis on runs and finishing; the comparison does not extend to Silva’s later Guardiola midfield role.
