Why is Phil Foden similar to Cole Palmer?

Why the comparison works

Inward movement

Foden and Palmer both move infield and time runs between defenders. League analysis of their 2023–24 play shows adaptable attacking positions; Foden’s deeper left-sided arrivals in 2025–26 qualify the comparison with Palmer’s creator-scorer role.
