BRSFullback89Converted centre-backs who attack the box from right-back
Why the comparison works
Timber and Koundé are former centre-backs who were used mainly at right-back in 2025–26, and both added aerial threat in the opposition box. That season Timber headed in corners against Leeds and Bayern, while Koundé headed twice from crosses against Frankfurt in December 2025. The comparison concerns that defender-to-box threat, not their clubs' defensive records.
Shared qualities
- Centre-back background at right-back
- Heading threat in the opposition box
Where it breaks down
Timber's sourced goals come mainly from set pieces, while Koundé's came from open-play crosses supplied by Barcelona's wide attackers.
