Georginio Rutter

Rutter and Zirkzee bring close control and combination play to a tall forward’s role. They can help connect an attack before it reaches the finishing action, blurring the boundary between centre-forward and creator.

Kanu’s Arsenal 1999–2002 phase connects with Rutter’s creative link play. His outside-foot pass releasing Parlour against Newcastle illustrates a forward making the opening for someone else to finish.
