A tireless left-sided operator who remains useful in the A-League despite his age, Goodwin compensates for declining explosive power with intelligent positioning and work rate. He can still execute dangerous crosses from wide areas and understands how to create space in congested channels, but his inability to consistently beat a defender one-on-one in open play now severely limits his impact against organised defences. At 34, he's a functional squad player and occasional starter for Adelaide — valuable experience for a developing league, but without the dynamism or technical precision you'd need at a higher level.
