Current Analogue

Jude Bellingham

Real Madrid

BRSIncursore91

Central carrying through contact into box penetration

Why the comparison works

Morgan Rogers and Jude Bellingham are paired for attacking power: carrying through central pressure or contact and turning the carry into box penetration or a final action.

Shared qualities

Powerful central carrying
Box penetration after the carry

Where it breaks down

Bellingham also takes on a wider range of deeper and defensive midfield assignments; that broader role range is not part of the Rogers comparison.

Historical Analogue

Kaka

Milan 2004-2007

Receive, turn and drive through central space

Why the comparison works

The reviewed comparison is the receive-turn-drive mechanism: carrying centrally through pressure, then creating or shooting. It is not a claim of equal overall quality or output.

Shared qualities

Long-stride central carrying
Receive-turn-drive actions

Where it breaks down

Rogers has less eye for a pass in the reviewed comparison; creative quality is not equated.

A style reference for this phase, not a prediction of Morgan Rogers’s ceiling.
