Defending the space behind a high line
Why the comparison works
Saliba and Upamecano are useful comparisons when a defence has space behind it. Both have the speed to recover towards their own goal and the strength to confront a forward in open ground, rather than relying only on protection inside the penalty area.
Shared qualities
- Recovery into space behind the defence
- Confronting forwards away from the penalty area
