Tino Livramento

Livramento and Spence can change the shape of an attack by carrying forward from full-back. Instead of immediately passing the problem to a winger, they take on the first opponent themselves and move play into the next area of the pitch.

Zanetti’s Inter 1999–2003 phase provides a reference for Livramento’s willingness to carry forward himself. Escaping the first challenge can turn a defensive starting position into an attacking delivery; Zanetti’s run and low cross at Newcastle in November 2002 show that route clearly.
