A technically sound central midfielder who constructs play with decent composure and isn't loose in possession, Dantas has the Portuguese hallmark of preferring to keep things simple and sideways rather than aggressive or forward-thinking. His off-ball positioning is reasonable, but he lacks the physicality or the incisiveness to dominate games at a higher level, and he doesn't carry the ball or impose himself on midfields in the way modern Eredivisie clubs increasingly demand. At 25, having moved around rather a lot, he appears to be a squad player settling at the right level.
