David Raya

Raya and Pickford can connect the goalkeeper's possession directly to players further forward. Premier League analysis supports long distribution for both. The link concerns the route of progression, not identical kicking foot, accuracy, short build-up responsibilities or overall quality.

Raya's long distribution connects with Reina's Liverpool 2005–2009 phase. Reina's kick releasing Riera against Aston Villa in March 2009 is a concrete in-phase example. A single assist illustrates the route; it does not establish a frequency or quality equivalence.
