Why is Cole Palmer similar to Dejan Kulusevski?

Why the comparison works

Left-footers who drift inside from the right

Both have done their best work starting from the right and moving into the inside-right channel to combine and create on their stronger left foot. Palmer took on more build-up responsibility at Chelsea in 2025-26. Kulusevski's evidence comes from 2024-25, when Postecoglou used him as one of two No 10s, on the right, and he was joint-top for Premier League key passes that autumn.

Shared qualities

Cutting inside onto the left foot
Combining in the inside-right channel
Creating from central areas

Where it breaks down

Kulusevski's 2024-25 game leaned on distance covered and high regains, whereas Palmer is primarily a shooter and final-ball creator.
